Founders Baptist Church has been a Yellowbox client since 2012. By 2018 the church was known for faithful preaching, sound doctrine, and Christ-centered worship, and it needed an identity that said so. The brief was for a brand that would work on a business card, a flag, and the side of the building, and hold for years.
Restraint. A serif wordmark in Title Case, a mark drawn from simple shapes and negative space, four colors named for what they are: Light Gray, Taupe, Sky Blue, Deep Steel Blue. Mark Bold for headlines, Amiri for everything else. The guide runs 23 pages and a volunteer can follow it. Eight years on, nothing has needed a refresh.
The wordmark leads with Founders. The icon sits centered above it, or between Baptist and Church, and nowhere else. Four colors, two faces, and a construction grid that sets the icon at 1.5 times the gap between the two lines.
The 2018 guide says it in one sentence: “The logo uses simple shapes and negative space to show four key pillars of Founders Baptist. Gods word, the cross, the Church, and progression—always moving forward and looking upward.” It is one of the smallest marks we have drawn for a church, and it holds on a flag, a book spine, a business card, and the side of a building at the same weight.
Stationery in 2019, the book cover in 2025. The icon on its own seals the envelope; the wordmark signs the page.
The lines are the church's own. We belong to Christ. We will remain faithful to God and to His Word. Though we are in the world, we are not of the world. The brand's job was to set them well and step back.
A brand this steady earns rooms. The Pastors Seminary got its own identity in 2026, built to sit beside the church's. Truth in Love gets a new one every January and never stops being Founders. Each is a page on its own. Walk through below.

The Challenge
A church known for faithful preaching and sound doctrine, with an identity that hadn't kept up with either.
